Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Tanya Hatfield and I am the Owner and Certified Clinical Aesthetician of Abbey Lane Aesthetics.

I began my aesthetics career in 1995 after successfully completing a certification course in hand and foot technology and was offered a position as a nail technician at a reputable nail salon in Oshawa where I lived. I quickly advanced from that position and opened my own home based business doing nail enhancements, manicures and pedicures. In 1999 I moved to the Peterborough area, settling in the village of Millbrook.

My passion for expanding my knowledge let me to enroll in the Medical Administration Program at Durham College. Upon graduating in 2001, I accepted a position working alongside a prominent cosmetic dermatologist in Durham Region. I was now able to combine my medical training with my aesthetics experience. During this time, I continued my aesthetics training and this training facilitated my promotion to Clinical Aesthetician as well as Manager of the cosmetic clinic.

I became fully certified in the field of laser hair, tattoo and leg vein removal, IPL-photo facials, microdermabrasion and glycolic facial peels. My duties at the clinic included clinical skin care and analysis, performing laser/anti-aging treatments, assisting the dermatologist with cosmetic procedures as well as recommending skin care products to my patients. I was directly involved in all of the day to day operating of the clinic, including managing a small staff.

In 2005 I left the clinic and began further training as a Spa Aesthetician. I completed the Spa Aesthetics Program at Sir Sandford Fleming in 2007 with honors.

That same year, I opened my home based business Abbey Lane Aesthetics, offering spa aesthetics as well as corrective and preventative treatments to enhance and promote wellbeing and beauty.

Abbey Lane is situated in Milbrook, within easy reach of Peterborough, The Kawarthas and Durham Region. The spa provides a relaxing atmosphere in a rural setting. Ample parking is available. I accept cash, Interac, Visa and MasterCard as payment for treatments, gift certificates and products.

I am very proud to provide products that are green, certified organic, environmentally friendly and vegan — all with recyclable packaging. These products fit perfectly with Abbey Lane's philosophy … "a natural approach to beauty".

I continue my education in the field of aesthetics and anti-aging treatments by attending various post graduate training courses in advanced clinical aesthetics, hand and foot care, and holistic treatments.
